You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me: The Unseen Journey🙏🫶🏻

Welcome back to our “You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me” series, where the unexpected turns of my health journey unfold. Today’s chapter is one that weighs heavily on my heart and body.

Imagine my disbelief when I learned that the silicone implants I believed were enhancing my life were, in fact, leaking. Not just small drips, but a persistent seepage of silicone gel and, unbeknownst to me, an array of toxins and heavy metals into my precious body cavity, reaching as far as my lungs.

When I chose implants, I was assured of their safety. “Gel bleed,” the term I only came to know afterward, was never part of the conversation. The revelation that I had no true knowledge of what was inside me, the extent of the bodily betrayal, or the possible future health consequences felt like a plot twist in the worst kind of thriller.

This experience has sparked an unexpected passion within me: a fervent desire to understand anatomy, to learn the very mechanics of life that I took for granted. Seeing a human body in surgery, the delicate lungs nestled below the ribs, the idea that they could be compromised by something as unnatural as silicone gel—this is a truth that shakes me to the core.

It’s a harsh reality check about the things we are told are “safe,” and a wake-up call to the importance of understanding exactly what we introduce into our bodies. It feels almost homicidal, that the risks associated with these implants can be understated or undisclosed.

But with this knowledge comes power—the power of awareness and education. I’m learning, I’m growing, and I’m understanding more than I ever expected about our incredible human anatomy and the importance of informed medical choices.

I share this part of my journey with a heavy yet hopeful heart. My story is a stark reminder to question, to research, and to advocate for complete transparency in our healthcare. It’s a call to arms for all of us to deeply honor and listen to our bodies.

As we dive deeper into this series, let’s continue to support one another in seeking knowledge, understanding, and, most importantly, truth in our paths to wellness.

Yours truly with love and hope,

🦋
