There’s Something to be Said About the Sadness

When I was younger, I’d often see in movies or TV shows, or hear stories about middle-aged men having midlife crises, chasing after younger women. I always thought, “That’ll never happen to me.” Yet, as life unfolded, I found myself commiserating with someone close to me, a woman desperately trying to make things work with her husband despite the heartache. It’s a story all too common: after decades of marriage, relationships crumble because of infidelity. Women, discarded like yesterday’s news, left to pick up the pieces while their partners seek fleeting thrills elsewhere. 😢💔

Her son is struggling, torn between wanting his mom to be happy and seeing his dad’s discontent. It’s a pain that cuts deeply, a pain I know all too well. On my way out the door, I told her, “I wish it was only just one.” One affair, one moment of betrayal. But it was more than that, and the weight of it is unbearable. The sadness is maddening, infuriating. Women everywhere have the right to be angry. 😠

It’s been over four years since I discovered everything, yet the wounds remain fresh. Days like today, standing in the post office, bring me to tears inside. I’m working on myself, striving to heal. My husband now is wonderful, caring, and everything I need. Yet, the journey isn’t over. I grieve, and I will continue to grieve, honoring my feelings. It’s not about succumbing to depression or playing the victim; it’s about acknowledging the pain and using it to grow stronger. 💪

To all the women out there, know that you are not alone. It’s okay to be sad, to feel angry, and to mourn what was lost. The only way forward is to keep working on yourself, to keep getting better. Honor your feelings, allow yourself to grieve, and know that it’s a crucial part of healing. There’s something to be said about the sadness—it’s a testament to our strength, our resilience, and our capacity to rise above the betrayal and find happiness once more. 🌟
